25 May How to Leverage Elance.com for Global Dynamic Teams
This post is about an amazing tool called elance.com. This tool has formed the major pillar of the creation of global dynamic teams in my business and our planned businesses for the last five or six years. Actually, it’s going through a change because it merged with another business called oDesk.com and now that have combined to become upwork.com but you can still use the original elance.com platform.
So what they do?
Well firstly, if you want to explore that in real detail, I suggest you look beyond this post to a book that I write called The Entrepreneurial Handbook which lays out for you not only this tool but several others to complete the creation of a global dynamic team.
So what is the global dynamic team?
Well, the name suggests the definition. Firstly, it’s global, it’s a team made up of people from all around the world. Secondly, it’s dynamic, which means it’s about the attainment of tasks dynamically. In other words, it’s not about full-time jobs, it’s not about part-time jobs. It’s about doing a task, finishing and moving on to the next. That’s what I mean by dynamic, and it’s a team, which is to say a group of people. So using elance.com and another place we love, a tool we love called fiverr.com, and another tool we love called craigslist.com, you can build almost any team: local, global, dynamic.
One of the most significant advantages is of having a global dynamic team through platforms like elance.com is that they are incredibly cost-effective. You can find amazing, talented people with extraordinary experience for bargain prices. It allows those people the freedom to work whenever they want for the clients that they want from all over the world. It allows you the freedom to access those amazing people wherever they happen to live and for a great price that most businesses can easily afford and I am even talking about micro businesses. These are numbers that you can easily afford most of the time.
For example, when I was first editing a manuscript for one of my first books, The Life Summit, I started by talking to a publisher and it seemed that the price of editing a book of that nature, around about 40k to 50k words, was roughly seven to ten thousand dollars that they incorporated into their internal voucher. However, when I went to elance, I was able to find someone extraordinary with amazing experience, decades of experience, in fact who did the entire menu script for about $300, and I now know that even that was expensive because I chose someone with such extraordinary experience. So you can get amazing things done for not a lot of money using tools like elance.com. I highly recommend them.
